At GPS PE Pipe Systems we are committed to playing an active role in our local community and to supporting charitable organisations, which share our core values.
We are proud to have been actively engaged with local Cambridgeshire community initiatives for more than 50 years.
Community Support Scheme
Our Community Support Scheme focuses on supporting local community projects in the Huntingdon area, and, over the years, it has provided backing to a variety of community groups, including youth football teams, scout groups and youth organisations.
We are currently pleased to support a number of youth initiatives helping to provide toys, kit and equipment including:
- Barnham Trojans FC
- Holme Village Pre-School
- St Ives RC Under 12s
- Mid Beds Tigers FC
Links with Schools
We actively encourage the opportunity to engage with young people, particularly with regard to skill development, career goals and workplace awareness. We believe it is important to demonstrate to young people the breath of opportunities that a career in manufacturing could offer them. This is why we continue to support local education bodies with work placements, factory visits and employment fairs for local students.
During 2014, we were delighted to offer commercial and engineering work placements to students from Cambridge and Huntingdon Regional Colleges. We also took part in a variety of ‘Meet the Employers’ events at local schools and colleges, as well as hosting a visit from Engineering students at Cambridge University.
Our nominated corporate charity is WaterAid, which works hard to provide clean drinking water and safe sanitation to some of the world’s poorest people, transforming the lives of millions. Each year, in addition to employees organising fundraising events on-site, we lend our support to a variety of customer, supplier and other industry stakeholder events to raise substantial funds for this extremely worthwhile cause.
