At GPS, we understand that getting materials and resources on time is a top priority when installing pipe infrastructures.
Our aim is to ensure things run as smoothly as possible and every project we get involved with is focussed on prompt and safe delivery to help our customers complete their projects in good time and on budget.
Our UK pipe deliveries are handled by our dedicated long term haulage partner. Partnering with a local, independent, long-standing haulage company allows us to offer a delivery service with 'family values' and continue to support the area's economy. The joint expertise accumulated throughout the many years of working together, means that we are well placed to meet the ever-changing logistical needs of our customers, whilst providing a safe and effective delivery solution.
All our delivery vehicles meet the Euro Emission Standard 3. Our haulage partner is in the process of modifying the delivery fleet to comply with the new Euro Emission Standard 5.
Health & Safety is important to us across everything we do and safe delivery of our pipes is no exception.
We adhere to the Plastic Pipes Forum’s Health and Safety Charter, which is recognised across the industry for its guidance on the safe delivery and unloading of polyethylene pipes. All our drivers are trained to follow the guidelines set out in the Industry Charter.
To underpin the efficiency of customer deliveries we operate a bespoke ‘milk round’ delivery schedule. This tried and tested schedule groups deliveries in geographical zones around the UK, creating a regular delivery date for specific postcodes on specific days of the week. As a result, you know in advance when you can expect your order, and can plan accordingly. The vast majority of the UK will receive deliveries twice per week.
What’s more, this system also minimises our fleet’s travel distances and ensures that we use return journeys to back haul products, reducing our carbon footprint and providing operating cost benefits in which our customers share.
